Biographical Information

I have worked as a psychotherapist since receiving a Masters in Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work in 1990. Prior to that, was a professor at several colleges and universities, having received a PhD in Religion and Psychology from Syracuse University. I also have worked as a professional storyteller, and was a member of Mimosa Imagination Theater, an improvisational mime and drama group for children. I was the founder and first president of the C. G. Jung Society of Central New York, and have served on the advisory board of the National Storytelling Journal (now Storytelling Magazine).  I am a member of the Mankind Project, have staffed over a dozen weekend trainings, and train men in group skills in the Greenfield Incubator in Greenfield, MA.  In the past ten years, I have traveled extensively around the country training other therapists in anger work, and have developed several resources for use in anger work, one of which is the Vicious Circles Manual, and is available here. I am also developing an online anger management program called SimmerDown Online, with flash videos, multimedia learning modules, and reading materials. Please check it out.
